In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority of Marin plays a key role in helping people who require in home support stay safely in their homes. The Public Authority assists the consumer find an appropriate caregiver (provider) that will be able to assist them with a variety of services. The consumer who uses the Public Authority’s services still retains the right to hire, supervise, and terminate the provider.
The Public Authority can assist the consumer in several areas, including:
- Referring qualified providers that meet the consumer’s specific needs
- Assisting the consumer in the interview and selection process of the provider
- Provide training and continuing education to the providers so that they are more qualified and skilled to assist the consumer
- Conflict resolution assistance
The Public Authority of Marin is ready to assist consumers in finding a provider that will meet their individual needs. Because all of the providers that the Public Authority refers are on our Registry, they have completed full background checks and training. The consumer can be confident that they are hiring a qualified provider that will help them remain safely in their home.
