Angelo Sacheli

AngeloAngelo Sacheli has 27 years of distinguished service to the Marin community. He began his professional career as an eligibility worker in West Marin shortly after graduating with a degree in Social Services. He has worked in several departments, including Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services and Mental Health. Currently, he works for the County of Marin in Adult Social Services.

Angelo is a founding member of the Governing Board for the Public Authority of Marin and the Chair of the Labor Management Committee. He first gained awareness of the need to improve in-home supportive services while working with a client who could only pay her caregiver minimum wage. When Assembly Bill 1682 was passed to create an IHSS Public Authority in every California County, he sought a seat on the Governing Board.

In addition to distinguished professional service, Angelo has served on numerous community boards. He is a founding member of the Point Reyes Clinic Board and he was a member of the Dance Palace Board, the Point Reyes community center. Angelo currently sits on the West Marin Community Resources Board and is a member of the newly formed West Marin Health Alliance; a coalition of Health and Social Service Providers.

Angelo and his wife have twin sons.  While they were growing up, Angelo was very active in their many sports activities and served as Commissioner of the Soccer League and coached several basketball and baseball teams. He was also instrumental in getting the West Marin playing field refurbished. Now the formerly condemned West Marin playing field has an upgraded soccer field, volleyball court and a new athletic equipment storage container.  Currently one son works as a firefighter for Cal Fire and the other is a High School teacher and football coach.

Angelo credits his longevity in the Social Service field with a willingness and desire to help. He believes that the variety and volume of his many community activities are a result of awareness and opportunity.
