Lynn von der Werth has over 23 years experience working in social services in the Bay Area. She currently works as a Medical Social Worker with Sutter Visiting Nurses Association, and is also training and educating law enforcement on the issues of elder abuse. Lynn has also worked for the San Francisco Department of Public Health on a street outreach team that provides services to those homeless that are at greatest risk of death. She also is working with the San Francisco Department of Epidemiology researching homeless deaths in the city and county of San Francisco. Other experience includes developing and managing community based programs for the developmentally disabled, advocating for incarcerated women and working with Juvenile offenders. She holds a master degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University.
Currently working with seniors and their families in their homes Lynn interfaces with In Home Supportive Services consumers, care givers and IHSS case managers. She sees first hand the benefits and importance of IHSS and understands that without this fundamental program the quality of life for many would be greatly diminished. She considers herself a strong advocate for the program and its participants. She enjoys working with the highly motivated Public Authority Board and serving on the Outreach Committee.
