Terry Scussel

Terry STerry has a comprehensive background in supporting the special needs of people with disabilities.  He is the parent of a daughter who requires these vital services 24 hours a day. He is keenly aware of the personal challenges this community face on a daily basis and the continual effort required securing appropriate support and resources. He has been his daughter’s relentless advocate for over 24 years assuring she is provided the opportunity to thrive in the community.

Terry’s lengthy business career provides valuable expertise for the Public Authority in strategic planning, organization management, budget development, fiscal administration, and labor relations. While Terry’s community services work centered on the special needs of his daughter, he is a firm believer that all professional and business people should volunteer their time and expertise to their community. He has held a variety of executive positions for Xerox, Pitney Bowes, IKON, and Recall over his 37 year career in the document outsourcing business.

Terry volunteers his time on several boards supporting older adults and people with disabilities. He joined the Public Authority-IHSS of Marin Governing Board in 2006 and currently serves as Vice Chairman and Chairs the Board Development Committee. In addition, he also serves on the Board of Directors for Marin Ventures (an adult day program), The Whistlestop (a program that provides para-transit, meals, and educational programs), and is an instructor for the American Red Cross, specializing in community prepared news for seniors and people with disabilities.

Terry and his family reside in Mill Valley. On the creative side he is an advanced amateur photographer and enjoys traveling the western back roads looking for new photo opportunities.
